What Happens to Extra Cremains?

We request an amount of ash that is about what we need in order to create your Spirit Piece. However, once the piece is completed, we usually have some amount of unused cremains. When you receive your collection kit, a form will be included where you can specify how you'd like us to proceed with any cremains left over. If desired, the artist will scatter your loved one's remaining ashes in a secluded spot local to them. Otherwise, you can request the ashes be returned to you via priority express.

If the latter option is selected, we will request an additional payment of $25 to cover the cost of shipping the cremains back to you via priority express, as is the USPS regulation. The majority of people elect to have our artists scatter the ashes locally at a serene tranquil location in line with local laws and regulations.
